What the experts say

A great number of musicians - composers and performers -, in numerous occasions expressed their high regard for the very excellent work carried out by Hisako Hiseki;  here there are some comments, as follows :

Alicia de Larrocha, December 30, 1998
It was a great pleasure to listen to this extremely good performance of ”Goyescas” by Hisako Hiseki. Hiseki shows herself to be an artist of great sensitivity, and has fully understood the elegant, romantic character of Enric Granados.Alicia de Larrocha next to Hisako Hiseki
“ Goyescas” is an extremely difficult work, both technically and artistically.

Hisako Hiseki is a great pianist who deserves the attention and the support of everybody who represents something related with music. A pianist, who already has great success in Japan as well as in Spain, where she resides and where I have had the opportunity to see for myself her great musical talent and sensitivity.

Xavier Montsalvatge, 1998
Her style is characterized by a strong sense of expression through an impeccable technique. With great refinement she expresses the finest nuances of each work to which she is bringing a special rhythmical liveliness.
She makes a name for herself also through her knowledge and her constant adherence to the Spanish music, proving it by dedicating her repertoire preferably to Falla, Albéniz, which is, as we all know, of an extreme complexity (to such an extent that the very Rubinstein did not want to play it for being too difficult).

It must be very difficult for an artist whose natural sensitivity differs greatly from the Latin and specifically Mediterranean temperament to understand Granados’s music in depth and to empathize fully with its emotive content.
One of the virtues of this admirable recording of “Goyescas” is the fact that Hisako Hiseki has solved precisely this problem: at no time during her performance is there the slightest indication of an emotional outlook other than that which inspired Granados to compose the work.
This Japanese pianist has all the necessary technique to bring off the rich and complex range of virtuoso effects the score demands, and she performs the music with an exquisite elegance and range of color that charms the listener from the first moment to the last
.

Carmen Bravo, Vda Mompou, 1994
Hisako Hiseki, I have been able to perceive her great musical sensitivity and high level of technique, which allows her to assimilate quickly each and all of her works. Hisako Hiseki also is an excellent performer of other Spanish works, more traditional and typical ones.

Albert Moraleda (Presentation CD "Suite Ibéria"), 1994Hisako Hiseki al piano en el Palau de la Música de Barcelona
The way Hisako Hiseki comprehends the language of Albéniz is as amusing and delicate as she is herself and her Japanese spirit, and by means of giving the feeling of an apparently easy technique, she makes us enjoy to the full the Andalusian work of this Catalan composer. So, welcome is this fruitful symbiosis, which I have the honor
Hisako Hiseki playing the piano at the Palau de la Música of Barcelona to present in this record, being clear proof of the one who likes it so much, Hisako Hiseki.

Jiro Hamada
The concert offered by Hisako Hiseki last month of May in Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, comprising the program Granados and the Spanish music, was fantastic (...). I could say that she proved brilliantly that she has understood the spirits of Granados' music. Her excellent technique is not her only art, as every work shows a feeling filled with poetry and drama.

Carmen García (Amadeus) April 1996
Like an irresistible mermaid’s song, the chords of Hisako Hiseki's piano emerge softly and delicately, but at the same time tenaciously. Her search for neutrality and for the faithful text, avoiding the improvisation, to subsequently reveal her feelings, is what defines her way of performance of the works of so different composers like Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Schumann, Chopin, Albéniz or Mompou.

Professor Christoph Lieske -  Mozarteum Salzburg   May 1989 - Konservatorium Winterthur / Switzerland
From 1985 to 1988 Hisako Hiseki studied piano in my classes of piano soloist training in the Conservatory Winterthur.
Hisako Hiseki has an extraordinary talent for piano playing, both from the technical and musical point of view.
During her study she kept constantly demonstrating her talent at various piano concerts, several concerts performing with the City Orchestra of Winterthur, by means of her radio recordings and by winning the Gold Award at the competition “Piano 80”.
